This program is almost identical to the 8-Week Academy program, but it especially focuses on the horse's first saddling and first rides.
Your colt's 'firsts' are the most important of his life and will define his career - either negatively or positively. With this program, he is given the time and consistency he needs to ensure he has the best experience possible.
Once your colt has had a couple weeks of training, he will get a lot of long rides, wet saddle pads, and concentrated training in the arena and on the trail. Consistency and hours in the saddle are the bread and butter of a broke horse.
Your horse will get worked with a minimum of 2 1/2 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Consistency is key, especially with young horses.
Your horse will get his feet worked with every day, practice standing tied, learn how to stand hobbled, get hosed down, ride by himself and with other horses, and practice trailering new places.
If you'd like your horse to get introduced to something specific like roping off of him, dragging a log, carrying a flag, etc., let me know so I can add it to his training.
This mare, Rain, was such a fun colt to start! Here she is after 20 rides.
Jewel turned out super smooth and was a dream to ride after 12 weeks of training.
Banner, who I started a couple years ago, turned out very quiet and sweet. I helped sell him, and now he gets to walkdown the trail and teach kids how to ride.
If you have questions or you want more information on training, including scheduling and pricing, give me a call at the number below. I can't wait to help you achieve your goals with your horse!
